Philosophy & Values
It is our vision at Parkridge Christian Academy to provide our students with a biblical worldview while striving for academic excellence, inspiring both the students and their families to be more like Jesus.
Parkridge Academy is a Christian school open to all families, which seeks to meet students’ individual needs through excellent education while also placing an emphasis on teaching students biblical principles and winning the lost to Christ.
K-8 Purpose Statement
Parkridge Christian Academy’s purpose is to provide a bible-centered and academic learning environment, setting the foundation for a Christ-centered life, equipping Christians with the skills, knowledge, and desire to impact the world for Jesus.
Christian Education Focus
"Do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord." 2 Timothy 1:8
Special emphasis is placed on leading every child to an understanding of who Jesus is and how each child can have a personal relationship with Him. Special emphasis is placed on leading every child to an understanding of who Jesus is and how each child can have a personal relationship with Him. Our goal is to minister to students and their family. We could not, and have no desire to, take the place of each child’s father and mother. Our objective is to firmly support and reinforce what the parents are already doing in the home. If the home is not Christ-centered and biblically based, then what and who we are in Christ may introduce Christ to the child, parents, and family.
"Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:2
All students participate in weekly chapel where they are led in age-appropriate Bible stories and songs and the experience of “church.” All of our children learn to say a blessing at snack time and lunch time in addition to beginning the day with a heart-felt prayer. At this very basic level of children’s understanding, what they see lived out before them has a much greater impact than what we tell them. All of our employees are active members of Parkridge or a like-faith church. Therefore, we strive to be that example for them in all we do both in our school life and personal life.
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27
Each child is unique, developing in his or her own time. Building a positive self-concept and understanding that God made each one special allows each child to grow without fear of failure.
Foundation for Education
Faith: We agree on the essential of the historic Christian faith. Biblical principles will govern all decisions made and will be taught as truth.
Family: We are committed to the building of strong family identity. We believe that parents are responsible for the spiritual, moral, and academic training of their children.
Academics: We believe in a sound Christ-centered curriculum. We value the input of parents and teachers as co-instructors for the benefit of achieving academic excellence.
