Volunteer

Parent P.A.W.S. is an organization of volunteer parents who partner with the Parkridge Christian Academy’s administration and staff to enhance the student activities, community public relations, outreach, and services.  The following are just a few of the events organized by parent P.A.W.S. volunteers that demonstrate how they leap into action throughout the school year.

  • School Pictures and Class Pictures
  • Family Science Night
  • Parents' Day
  • Book Fair
  • Thanksgiving Feast
  • Christmas Tree Fundraiser
  • Teacher Appreciation Week

Become a P.A.W.S member by filling out the membership form available in the front office.  The membership cost is $10 (includes National Background Check through First Advantage).  To be able to volunteer in classrooms, fieldtrips etc. a background check will need to be done.

The following are just a few of the areas where you can serve as a parent volunteer.

 

Room Parents

Tasks: work with your child’s teacher regarding events and items needed and communicate those needs with other parents, facilitate Teacher Appreciation Week

# of Parents Needed: Minimum of one per classroom Time Commitment: Length of School Year

 

Fall Book Fair and Back to School Night

Tasks: set up, sales, and pack up during the week of event

# of Parents Needed: at least 6 Time Commitment: Various hours for about 2 weeks

 

Christmas Tree Fundraiser and Annual Boosterthon Fundraiser

Tasks: help procure prizes for sales incentives and rallies

# of Parents Needed: At least 2 Time Commitment: Varied

 

Christmas & Easter Performances

Tasks: backdrop, costumes & props, program distribution, photography

# of Parents Needed: Minimum of 2 Time Commitment: Approximately ten hours

 

Box Tops/MyCokeRewards/Campbell’s Coordinator

Tasks: assist with submitting box tops, Campbell’s Labels, and MyCokeRewards

# of Parents Needed: at least 1 Time Commitment: Varied throughout the School Yea, can be done outside of school hours

 

Missions / Community Service

Tasks: assist with student community service field trips/local mission trips, annual food drive

# of Parents Needed: Multiple Time Commitment: Varied

 

General Activities/Events

Tasks: help with parent/student events, assist on picture days, year-end field day, advocating for PCA through community relations and advertising
